It just keeps getting better! QPAC in Brisbane was another full house, we woke up the lions at Melbourne Zoo and rocked the house in Leongatha. Tim is bringing out the best in us, and everyone is loving the soul man that we're coaxing out of Mr. Rogers. The Medicine Show rolls on to Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong this weekend. And then we go out with a bang at WOAMD in Adelaide on Sunday. Tickets still available for all shows. As TR has been saying, "come join the band...."

Tim will be joining forces with the full Bamboos line up, including our two stellar vocalists Kylie Auldist and Ella Thompson. Bamboos guitarist, main songwriter and bandleader Lance Ferguson follows his passion for spiritual jazz on a new project, Menagerie. Featuring some of Melbourne's best jazz players, 'They Shall Inherit' has already had support from Gilles Peterson on BBC6 Music. Lance and Chris Gill (of Melbourne store and home of funk, Northside Records) have put together a great compilation of their hometown's exploding contemporary funk and soul scene. 'The Soul Of Melbourne' shows the quality and range of what the rest of the world is starting to pay a lot of attention to. Artists featured include Chet Faker, Electric Empire, The Bombay Royale, Clairy Browne & The Bangin' Rackettes, Kylie Auldist and of course The Bamboos. 'MEDICINE MAN' AN OFFICIAL ENTRANT IN COOPERS AUSTRALIAN MUSIC PRIZE
We're extremely proud that 'Medicine Man' was selected in the first batch of 'Official Entrant' in the 8th Australian Music Prize. Formerly known as the "long list", there will be fifty albums announced in the next few weeks and the final Shortlist on Feb 1st.
The final winner is announced on Mar 7th. We're already amongst some great albums, with the likes of Catcall, Alpine, Grand Salvo, Hermitude, Pond, Dirty Three, Deep Sea Arcade, Ollo and many more. Keep up to date here.
Q: WHO IS TREVOR?
A: a music festival. True! On January 12th we'll be joining Icehouse, Ash Grunwald and more for a weekend festival on Churchill Island, off Phillip Island, about 90 minutes from Melbourne. BAMBOOS AND TIM ROGERS TO PERFORM AT JIMA AWARDS
We'll be joining the ubiquitous Tim Rogers on stage for a rendition of "I Got Burned" at the Jagermeister Independent Music Awards at Revolt in Melbourne on Tuesday October 16. Other acts performing on the night will be Paul Kelly, Lanie Lane, Hermitude and Loon Lake. It should be an amazing night - hopefully we'll have some footage to share afterwards. And fingers crossed for a nomination or three for 'Medicine Man'! Nominations are announed in a few weeks. More info here.

Summer is starting to heat up already! We're part of an amazing line up at this year's Falls Festival. Especially will be the opening night party at Lorne, 'Boogie Nights' on Dec 28, which we'll be headlining. Dressing up with the theme of "jungle-afro-funk" is encouraged.
We'll then be playing the festival proper at Lorne on Dec 30. Then it's over to Marion Bay in Tasmania to play at the NYE installment. NEW BAMBOOS ALBUM ANNOUNCED
The Bamboos will release their fifth studio album, ‘Medicine Man’, on June 1st (AUS/NZ) and June 4th (rest of the world).
Across their four studio albums to date the metamorphosis of The Bamboos has been full of twists and turns, and it continues apace. With ‘Medicine Man’, they are about to unveil another revelatory, forward-looking record brimming with fresh ideas, stellar turns, classic song writing and a brand of multi-layered pop.
Guest vocalists on the album are Aloe Blacc, Tim Rogers (You Am I), Megan Washington, Daniel Merriweather and Bobby Flynn.
The powerhouse singer and regular band member Kylie Auldist contributes four songs, while Melbourne based Ella Thompson adds a new facet to the band’s sound with her performance on two tracks.
